It seems like the first quarter of the year is always operationally busy but it tends to feel like it’s “yesterday” busy, meaning we’re holding what we already have together. As a resource manager, I’ve always enjoyed this time of year because, based upon reflection of previous experiences, it offers some mental “slack time” to strategize for the upcoming operational year. We’ve discussed a few of these specific considerations above, but each operation is different. Therefore, I’d encourage you — regardless of how big or small your operation is — to not get bogged down in “yesterday’s busy work” and plan instead for tomorrow’s successes.
Until next time!
