Getting Started Off Right

Halito (Hello) from the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and its Agriculture Department, organizationally positioned within the Division of Commerce.

My name is Evan Whitley and it is with great pleasure and excitement that we launch this inaugural, quarterly Choctaw Ranches newsletter. The Choctaw Nation has a heritage deeply rooted in agriculture with a great appreciation for the rural communities within its Tribal jurisdiction and beyond. This newsletter is intended to not only provide updates pertaining to Choctaw Nation agriculture, but also provide timely, applicable information to those rural constituents who might assist them in their AG operations and promote the many economic, environmental and societal benefits of agriculture as a whole.

Many positive AG-related activities occur and continue to occur within the Nation’s Tribal grounds, and we want to share them with you! This newsletter is just one of the ways we intend to do so. As we revamp our Choctaw Ranches website to be more current and interactive, we likewise plan to be more engaging within the Tribal districts and further utilize already existing Tribal platforms, such as the Biskinick. We will keep you abreast of changes and opportunities to become more aware as they become available. We are proud of our operational direction and the hard work that comes with it. We invite you to join us in this journey, benefit from it and be equally proud as Tribal leadership and members.
