Operationally speaking, things continue to ramp-up as we progress through winter and into spring. Bulls are scheduled to come off fall-calving cows in early February and will go back on the spring-calving cows in early May.
As mentioned in the last newsletter, we have approximately 350 head of replacement heifers slated to undergo estrous synchronization in March, and bulls will be turned out in April. Spring calf workings are being scheduled, as well as Fall calf weaning. The next few months may be busy and challenging, but it will be fun … and, if everything works out as planned, really fun!
Until next time!
